A: The Standards and Regulation Board (SRB) delivers independent professional regulation within RICS, acting in the public interest to uphold standards. It has exclusive responsibility for exercising RICS' regulatory functions, including professional standards, entry and admission to the profession (such as the APC), education and qualification standards, regulatory operations, and dispute resolution services. Crucially, the SRB operates independently from Governing Council to ensure regulatory decisions cannot be improperly influenced. It is chaired by Nigel Clarke and comprises 11 members, with the Chair and majority being non-RICS members to ensure independence.
